OnePoll conducted a study for The Joint Chiropractic that looked into how Americans dealt with pains and aches. The survey of 2000 Americans found that 7 in 10 Americans dealt with discomfort and pain when going about their usual tasks.
About 70% of the residents felt they would jump at the chance to replace one body with another if they could. Researchers also found that 76% of Millenials were more likely to complain about pain. This number was high compared to 59% of baby boomers. The team believed this could be because many Millenials had begun working remotely since the pandemic began.
Participants of all ages felt that would replace their backs (38%). Another three in five felt more focused on their pain than the activity at hand.
About 72% wanted to dedicate the year to improving their health. The respondents planned to do this through better nutrition (20%), mental health (26%), and developing an exercise regimen (34%).
While many of the participants had set clear goals, they had obstacles in achieving them. One of their challenges was the pain that caused them to abandon their exercise regimen. The pain also impacted their social life (43%) and free time (47%).
The respondents stated that their pain was at its worst from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Another 51% said their pain was a bugger problem while sleeping. Fortunately, nine in ten felt they could handle the pain.
The participants tried a few tricks to relieve the pain. These were medicating (39%) and physical exercises and stretches (41%). Moreover, seven in ten said they don’t take care of their bodies enough even though they had enough time.
About 84% of the respondents plan to spend more money improving their health. The areas they planned to second on include physical fitness (46%), mental health (48%), and nutrition (53%). Another two in five said they would spend their money on managing pain.
One way to manage pain is through chiropractic therapy. This technique improves spinal health and enhances the functioning of the nervous system, making it easier to do activities.
