Smart Locks
Smart locks are devices that allow remote locking and unlocking of your front door. These device vary widely in design, from the simple to the very complicated. Some just basically use a touch-pad to enter your code to lock and unlock the door. Others can use your fingerprint or a command from your smartphone. Many of them still have a way to use your “old-fashion” key as a back-up.
The smartest of these devices also will alert you and/or a security company if someone is trying to get into your home, or to notify you that the door has been left unlocked. The price of these locks vary widely, depending on how sophisticated they are, ranging from $80 – 200. This does not include installation.
