Wayne Farms’ undercooked chicken recalled

According to one buyer, a few of the products appeared to be undercooked. However, no serious responses have been reported. Outlets in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia received the product.

The following prepared chicken products manufactured between February and April this year have been recalled.

  • Chef’s Craft Chicken Breast Fillet” with establishment code P-20214 printed next to the best by date of  3/23/2023 on 6-oz. zipped plastic packaging;

Wayne Farm’s prepared meal packs feature undercooked chicken breast, as per the USDA Food and Safety Inspection Service. The company has already addressed the issue and is looking into collecting and disposing of the food packs.

Because these undercooked chicken breast meals are already packed in meal packages, they shall not be accessible anymore. Wayne Farms must ensure that its subsequent portions are at the proper temperature and fit for human consumption before reselling.

Chicken foods should have an internal temperature of 165

The United States Food Safety Agency recommends that chicken foods have a core temperature of 165 ℉ to signify that they are cooked well and safe to consume.

It’s important to remember that food recalls are required because they can be dangerous and deadly, making them a life/death issue for some people.

Some folks feel it’s merely a case of undercooked chicken. However, it will, unfortunately, expose persons with compromised immune systems to salmonella and other infections linked to eating raw/undercooked food.
