The Painter is responsible for painting, preparing, repairing, and maintaining all surfaces, interior and exterior in conjunction with decorated or protected areas (including furniture and equipment). This includes wall and ceiling washing involved with UI Hospital operating room surface sanitation. Additionally painters duties include:
• Painters inspect the work site to determine procedure, materials and equipment needed to complete assignments as professionally and quickly as possible.
• The Painter requests materials, tools, and equipment as need from Foreman.
• The Painter is responsible for transporting materials, tools, and equipment to the work site as needed.
• The Painter always protects personnel and equipment from bodily harm and damage.
• Reads work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements.
• Mixes /color matches paints, stains, varnishes, and/or enamels in order to produce desired color.
• Prepares interior and/or exterior surfaces to be painted; (they may have to remove furniture or other objects from the interiors).
• Tapes and finishes new or existing drywall projects
