Types of online high schools

Online public high schools:- They are similar to the traditional government-funded public schools that abide by government rules and regulations. They can be found in several states, including California, Illinois, North Carolina, and Alaska.

Online private high schools:- They are similar to the regular private high school, funded privately, unlike public high schools, where students are required to pay tuition for enrollment, which is rather expensive.

Cyber charter high schools:- They are also similar to the typical brick and mortar charter schools except that students are taught via the internet. Hence, the existence of cyber charter high school is dependent on state or federal funding. Amongst many states, only twelve provide this form of education. They include; Alaska, Idaho, Ohio, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, California, Arizona and Kansas.

The only similarity displayed by these various types of online high schools is that the students attend classes via the internet. Apart from that, they differ in a few sectors that include how lessons are presented and the educational roles between the teachers and the parents.
Regarding the presentation of lessons, a few online private high schools offer their classes via interactive multimedia presentations. The teachers in these schools play the primary educational role. On the contrary, in online public and cyber charter high schools, parents play the primary educational role, and the teachers fulfill the secondary educational role.

Benefits of online school

All they need is their laptop or other digital devices to log into the student portal on the university website. To have access to assignments, research works, teachers and classmates, and also test grades.

Effective time management:- Online education creates a convenient and stress-free environment for the working students by setting an equilibrium between their work and studies without having to commute back and forth to classes on campus after work.

Immediate feedback in the test:- Online school is different from traditional setup education where students’ test results are delayed. Online schools mark and score done test without letting the students wait for days.

More comfortable to focus:- It is not always easy to focus on a class containing myriads of distractions that could negatively affect grades. Online schools gives students the opportunity to create an environment they think is apt to make them focus more without distraction.
