The complexes also have regular pest control treatments, protecting your things from vermin.
All of these features can make a self storage unit a good place to keep old precious photos or videos, documents, collectibles and heirlooms – usually better than your basement, attic or garage.
Business
While you are not allowed to operate a store or office in a self storage unit, you certainly can use it to store, organize and distribute various kinds of goods and merchandise. This is usually allowed provided the items in question are legal, non-flammable, non-toxic and are not perishable. Not only is this kind of use not ideal from your home, in many locales such business activity out of a home isn’t legal.
