If a couple’s sex life can determine their chances of a breakup, then half of the American couples will not be together for long. According to a recent study, one in two Americans in a relationship finds their current partner as the worst sex they’ve ever had.
Stopping because the sex was dreadful
The survey on 2,000 sexually active Americans focused on the most significant disasters and embarrassments in the intimate lives of the participants. A fifth of the respondents said they’ve experienced more than 10 awful sexual encounters in their life, close to a third more than the average of seven terrible experiences in the bedroom. At the same time, 44% had to stop in the middle of a sexual encounter because it was unbearable.
OnePoll conducted the study for LELO. The poll also reveals that 69% of the participants find both “good” and “bad” sex unforgettable. Participants also reminisced about some of their most regrettable and funniest moments in bed, like calling out an ex’s name or falling off the bed and fracturing a bone. One participant even says that they tried having sex in a cemetery’s parking lot. The respondent adds that her partner thought he saw a ghost, something that she considered hilarious.
Of the respondents who had injured themselves during sex, 57% said it happened when getting intimate in the shower. Another 53% said they hurt themselves while trying the “wheelbarrow” position. However, 62% said that the easiest way to hurt yourself was using “doggy-style.”
When it came to non-dangerous sex snafus, 37% of the poll have stopped midway through an encounter to pee. Another 33% admitted to having fallen asleep on their partner during intercourse.
Humorous nature of sex injuries
