Experts explain that a clot in the arms is most likely to be under the skin. This type of clot is quite dangerous because it can travel to the heart or lungs.

Healthline also included a change in the color of limbs from red to blue as part of the symptoms. The color change is accompanied by a dull or sharp pain in the affected area which also feels itchy.

Furthermore, lower leg cramps might be felt where the blood clot is. It might also cause an inflammation that leaves a hole or dimple for a few seconds when pressed.

How to avoid a blood clot

According to Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, people should wear loose-fitting clothing to avoid blood clots. You should also lift your legs 6 inches above your heart from time to time and exercise regularly.

It is also a good precautionary measure not to bump or cross your legs. You should also use pillows below your knees and raise your bed by at least 6 inches at the bottom. Finally, take all the medication as prescribed by the doctor.
