Study Finds That Americans Do Not Want Summer to End

A survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Chinet has found that many Americans are reluctant to let summer end. The study of 2000 Americans has found that only 1 in 5 respondents think of the Autumnal Equinox as the end of the summer.

A few Americans have come to terms with the end of summer and are planning significant ways to end the season. About 18% plan to have a relaxing day in the part, while 32% plan on having a barbecue. Other ways Americans prefer to end their summer include vacationing, going to the beach and visiting an amusement park.

Americans give a list of things they will miss after summer

Americans admitted they would miss a few things once summer ends. These include wearing fewer layers of clothing (45%) and the warm weather (52%). About 50% say the end of summer saddens them. This season is most look forward to in the year (40%).

About 63% of the respondents said they would have liked for the season to last longer. Another 1 in 3 said they would have enjoyed an extra two months of summer. Some of the respondents miss the summer in January, which is typically a cold month. At this time, they craved summer foods such as ice cream (36%), barbecue (37%) and watermelon (43%).

Even though the summer is about to end, some participants still plan to remain in their summer mindset after the season (54%). Another 55% will still host social gatherings after the summer. About 45% will host movie nights, 50% will host birthdays, and 60% will host casual gatherings.

Americans use summer to visit loved ones.

Some of the respondents will use the time remaining to see their loved ones (63%) until the next holiday. Most Americans (68%) use the summer to spend time with their family, with some listing their fondest and family memories during this season.

Most propel have a difficult time seeing their loved ones outside summer. This is because they have school-going children (44%), different schedules (44%) and cold weather (48%).

According to Alexis Guetzlaff, the senior product and brand manager for Huhtamaki, the owners of Chinet, summer is a time many people use to get together. After a challenging year, people are trying to make the most of their summer.
