There are several issues in the current world that cause stress and add pressure to life. These include finances, family and relationships, and politics among others. All these contribute to anxiety and intrusive negative thoughts that are difficult to banish. If unchecked, these thoughts can reduce one’s productivity and lead to a vicious cycle of stress.
To deal with increasing stress levels, many people are turning to natural solutions. In particular, many people are turning to cannabidiol or CBD, a chemical component found in hemp. Cannabidiol is derived from cannabis plants and is used in form of oil, capsules and edibles. Cannabidiol bind to specialized receptors in the brain.
The compound is derived from the Cannabis sativa L. plant and does not cause an intoxicating or “high” condition. It instead offers a sense of calmness and relaxation.
Does CBD produce a high?
As opposed to other hemp compounds, CBD oil does not produce a high. Hemp is a type of cannabis plant grown for industrial use that is grown for industrial use. Cannabidiol can also be consumed as hemp oil with trace amounts of THC.
CBD oil and anxiety
Many studies on cannabis products have focused on the marijuana and not CBD oil. There are several studies that have found that cannabis can help reduce anxiety. However, there are a few studies that have indicated that the use of marijuana could actually trigger anxiety. These studies have indicated that use of marijuana makes one more vulnerable to anxiety.
A study by University of Montana found that cannabidiol can stick to the serotonin 1a receptor in the central nervous system which is known for neuromodulation. Additional research is being conducted to establish the mechanisms through which the bonding happens.
Another report by the World Health Organization’s Expert Committee on Drug Dependence shows that CBD does not have any effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential. WHO also says that there no evidence of public health problems associated with the consumption of pure CBD. Cannabis has been used through generations and its use has gone through various modifications and improvements over time.
